A WORLD CLASS FACILITY
A+K Architects are pleased to illustrate the design for the new
SASKATCHEWAN ENERGY TRAINING INSTITUTE (Southeast Regional College) to
be constructed in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
A highly successful groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday, 20
November 2009. This event was attended by representatives of the
Government of Canada, Province of Saskatchewan, Ministry of Advanced
Education, Employment and Labour (AEEL), City of Estevan and
Southeast Regional College Administration.
A supplementary public information session was conducted at the
Southeast Regional College (Estevan Campus) where lunch was
provided. This session provided the end users with an
opportunity to review the planning, discuss the potential and begin
thinking about their involvement and commitment to a training center
of this type within their regional operations theatres.
Comments received during the session indicated a very positive
approach to the facility, noting that the presentation represents a
"world class building that should be front and centre in the City of
Estevan".
This facility is comprised of 400 sm (44,000 sf) within two storeys,
housing lab/workshop instructional spaces, lecture theatre,
classrooms and ancillary student and administrative services.
Construction for the 12.6 million dollar centre is currently
underway.
